Yea.A lot of that that's on sites like EZcosplay, or other similar costume catalog, pick a costume and add-to-cart to order, type sites, are all in China, so there's usually also a HUGE language barrier, and they actually mean that it CAN be styled to look like that. I have just looked up hundreds of wigs and a great deal of them note they are styled so you saying they don't exist didn't make a lot of sense to me
It was also kinda just sarcasm cuz you said you were hoping for insight from other Cloud cosplayers, and I just so happen to be one of the ones that has done the most versions of Cloud lol I was just clarifying that I have done multiple Cloud cosplays, so I would be someone that can for sure help. The "classic" Cloud, where I have the silver stuff on the belt, is another base wig, and the rest are all the same base wig, just, not the exact same wig reused, but multiple of the same one, styled multiple times. The first Advent Children cloud where I have just the center blade of the Fusion Sword only, is one base wig. For the photos I linked, I used 2 different base wigs. I'd highly suggest just getting a good high quality wig. Ok yea, so that wig is what we call SUPER thin lol That's garbage. As far as the wife's explanation it was greek to me but she's a 20 year cosmetologist so I took it at face value. I can shake the living hell out of it and stuff it in a bag and it still comes out looking the same. Short of sending you a video the best I can explain is that moving even 1 fingers worth of hair exposes a very visible mesh and trying to style it any other way would look like shit. The one I was wearing in fact IS 's just a shitty wig. I've been cosplaying multiple versions of Cloud since 2012. Just hoping for some insight from folks who have gone as Cloud and their wig reccomendations

Wigs require different cutting and styling techniques that, unless the salon just so happens to have someone that knows how to style wigs, they won't know, and will likely screw it up. Hairdressers are trained to work on real human hair, and not wigs.

I'm not needing movie quality though,ĭon't do this actually. I'm also not opposed to taking a wig to a hairdresser to get the look right. I have to get the larger ones that are made for larger heads, which is only a few sites, none of them being Chinese based. They are from China, and are usually small, and my head doesn't fit any of the Chinese wigs. Well, I've never gotten any of their wigs. That said I've seen multiple advertised as styled-ezcosplay for example, styles and hairsprays many of their wigs pre shipping.
Also, I'm sure I understand what she meant by "you couldn't style it because the wefts were sewn in.That's.just how wigs are made. But that's normal for them to be spiked up like that to make it easier. That's just spiked up to make styling it easier than one that isn't. It's odd that you say it was styled, because if you mean the one in your photo, that is certainly not styled if that's how it came. It's not normal for them to arrive styled. The one in my costume was pre styled (my wife explained I couldn't style mine because the wefts? were sewn in)
